Lex Gillan

Lex Gillan has served in various roles at the Institute since 2005 and is currently on the teaching faculty. Lex oversees a research project in collaboration with Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children's Hospital: Yoga and Mindfulness classes at DeBakey High School for Health Professions. Results of these studies have been published in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine (JACM), and presentations have been made at national and international conferences of the American Association of Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists (AACAP).
Lex is the founder and president of The Yoga Institute (1974), which collaborates with ISH on various projects. He teaches the Yoga Teacher Training and National Certification Course and has certified more than 3,000 teachers globally.
Lex is a co-founder and serves on the board of trustees for the Rose Mountain Retreat Center in New Mexico. He has served on various committees with YogaALLIANCE and in 2013 he founded the National Association of Certified Yoga Teachers, both of which are registries for certified yoga teachers.
