2:00-3:00pm: Rev. John Price - “Transformation of a Skeptic”
3:15-4:30pm: Support Circle for Near-Death Experiencers
Our Speaker:
The Rev. John Price is the author of Revealing Heaven: The Christian Case for Near-Death Experiences, HarperOne, San Francisco, 2013. Rev. Price will discuss the 400+ near-death accounts that experiencers have shared with him. He notes the differences and similarities between them with illustrative accounts. Rev. Price has done extensive research on the common lessons and messages that are received by Near Death Experiencers. He will discuss how these insights cross geographic, religious, ethnic and cultural boundaries. What is the tread that ties all humanity together? There will be a Q&A session following his presentation.
Rev. Price graduated from the University of Texas, in ’61. He then graduated from the Virginia Theological Seminary, and the Pecos, New Mexico, Benedictine Monastery’s School for Spiritual Directors, ’85. He’s been an Episcopal priest since 1965 and served churches in San Antonio, Austin, and Houston, Texas. He served as Chaplain to the Transplant Services at St Luke’s Episcopal Hospital, Houston, whence he retired in 2004. In his Army career he served for 30 years and retired as State Chaplain (Colonel) of the Texas Military Forces in 1995.
Houston IANDS (International Association for Near-Death Studies) at the Texas Medical Center serves as a safe space to support those who have had a near-death experience as they integrate their experience into their lives. Houston IANDS also serves to inform the public about NDEs and the lessons and messages that experiencers bring back, and to educate the medical community to recognize and appropriately treat people who have had an NDE.
