Two People Who Show How God Looks At Us

Dr Raja and JessI have recently been touched by the story of little Adam, a child born in India with multiple severe congenital abnormalities – absence of upper eyelids, cleft lip and nose deformity, webbing of the hands and legs, such that the child is not able to extend his legs. His parents abandoned the child at birth but a doctor (Dr Raja Paulraj) and his newly married wife (Jess) have adopted the child and the picture of them with their little baby Adam with such love, reminds me of the love God has for us. Although we too are deformed of spirit and soul, God loves us. God doesn’t abandon us or turn aside. Instead, God sees us as if we are whole. That’s what this couple is doing. They look down at their deformed child and see him complete and whole. Such love in a world where everything and everyone is judged and so many rejected. I am honored to know Dr. Raja and Jess. What a precious man and woman of God. What a story. Below is the latest information I have received from them.

10-13-11. The latest update from Dr Raja Paulraj in India: “I believe our Lord has heard cries and sensed the persistence and His heart is rejoicing over the love being shown, thru millions of prayers, to this little child. THANK YOU. God is definitely at work. You see, this the link to a surgeon at UNC Chapel Hill.http://www.med.unc.edu/plastic/faculty/JVA . His name is Dr. John Ananda Van Aalst. He is incredibly specialized in plastic surgery for children, specifically on the face;) And my precious friend Brooke Gleason (whom I met over 2 years ago in Mexico on a medical conference) works at Duke and shared about Adam to this surgeon. He was incredibly moved by Adam and has created a team of specialists who are willing to provide TOTAL CARE for Adam. That means despite his diagnosis and questionable life span, these specialists are going to separate his little legs, give him eye lids, and repair the cleft palate. “Wow, thats amazing”,we are all thinking right? And then the obvious question comes…”How on EARTH are you going to pay for that”. Well, how precious His children are to Him? He provides. UNC Chapel Hill has committed to doing all the surgeries for no cost.” Jess with baby Adam

My previous posting: I received a recent update concerning the baby, Adam, pictured on the left who was born with multiple severe congenital defects and has won the hearts of people in America, India, and England. The next two pictures are of Dr. Raja and Jessica Paulraj of India, a remarkable couple who are taking steps to adopt the child who was abandoned by his mother at birth. Adam has a condition known as Bartsocas Papas Syndrome. When the diagnosis was learned, physicians initially backed away from doing any reconstructive surgery. However, I just learned that surgeons are taking a second look because the MRI of the brain and organs were all normal. And, the child is eating well and appears to have a strong will to thrive. I have been deeply touched by the love that this couple has shown to this helpless little baby. They are a precious couple who love the Lord. Those who have made or wish to make contributions for the benefit of Adam, please know the money you have given will be forwarded to Dr. Paulraj shortly. He is deciding the best way to transfer the money. Thank you so much for your responsiveness. They will need your prayers now and later whether surgery is performed or not. I will keep you posted.
