ISH-Saybrook Offer MS & PhD Degrees

Dear Reader,

On September 6-9, faculty from Saybrook University will come to our Institute to hold a 4-day Residential Conference for students enrolled in Master’s and Ph.D. degree programs. This is an exciting step forward for ISH. The science of mind-body medicine is the foundation of all the work we do at our Institute.

Before asking Saybrook University to come to our Institute, I registered for classes myself. I wanted to be certain as to the quality of instruction students would receive. I found the course material to be academically challenging and the professors to have a love for and command of their subject material. The faculty is dedicated to seeing that students flourish.

At ISH we offer classes in meditation, mindfulness, yoga, tai chi, and talks on the role spirituality plays in health and healing. Saybrook’s Mind-Body Medicine program also addresses the whole person – mind, body and spirit. Among other things, students learn self-regulation skills they can teach clients/patients to minimize the impact of stress which leads to so many illnesses.

After two years of study, on August 26, 2019 I will receive a Master of Science degree in Mind-Body Medicine from Saybrook and then continue my course of study leading to a Ph.D. in Mind-Body Medicine with specialization in Psychophysiology.

I have loved my experience at Saybrook and today the healthcare staff throughout our Texas Medical Center and surrounding region can have this same experience without leaving home. For more information or to register for classes, go to www.Saybrook.edu/Houston.

Sincerely,

John K. Graham, MD, DMin President & CEO
