Mindful Self-Compassion Retreat and Workshop

Cost: $45 includes 3.0 CEU for LPC, LMFT, and LMSW

In this retreat workshop we will:

  • Explore the key components of self-compassion

  • Learn two self-compassion meditations

  • Alleviate stress with loving kindness

  • Introduce the 8 week MSC Program

  • Enjoy mindful movement

  • Have a few laughs!

What is Mindful Self-Compassion?

Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) is an intensive 8-week training that combines the skills of mindfulness and self-compassion to provide a powerful tool for emotional resilience. MSC can assist in overcoming depression and anxiety as well as improve relationships and increase overall well-being.

This program, designed by Drs. Kristin Neff and Chris Germer, is based on extensive psychological research and is being taught all around the world to help people overcome perfectionism, reduce anxiety and depression, and improve relationships.

About the instructor, Gwen Brehm

Gwen Brehm M.Ed, LPC, LMFT, is a psychotherapist and a trained meditation teacher as well as a trained instructor of Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC). She is on faculty with the Center for Mind Body Medicine and helps continue the work of the Greater Houston Healing Collaborative throughout Southeast Texas. She has been trained in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and Mind Body Skills and uses these in her work with individuals, families, and groups.
