Mindful Self-Compassion: 8-Week Training

Ready to move past your self-criticism and become a friend and supporter of your own wellbeing?

Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) is an intensive 8-week training program to help you mindfully recognize and overcome insecurity and negative self-talk, develop more compassion and loving-kindness towards yourself, and experience greater peace and joy.

Designed by Drs. Kristin Neff and Chris Germer, MSC is based on extensive psychological research and is being taught all around the world to help people overcome perfectionism, reduce anxiety and depression, and improve relationships.

  • Self-compassion practices for daily life

  • How to handle difficult emotions with greater ease

  • The art of loving-kindness meditation

  • How to use self-compassion in caregiving situations

  • How to transform challenging relationships

  • How to motivate yourself with kindness rather than criticism

  • How to enjoy your life more fully

Registration

$395 tuition includes:

  • 20hrs of training

  • Complete course materials with home practices

  • 20.0 CEU for LPC, LMFT, LMSW/LCSW

About the instructor, Gwen Brehm

Gwen Brehm, LPC, LMFT has been teaching Mindful Self-compassion (MSC) for over 3 years in the Houston area. She is a Trained Teacher in MSC and has taught 12 eight-week MSC trainings, several MSC Core Skills two-day workshops, and coordinated one 5-day intensive MSC training. She has worked closely with MSC creators Drs. Kristin Neff and Chris Germer, most recently to coordinate their 2-day Core Skills class in February 2018. MSC has become an integral part of her private practice as she incorporates skills with her clients and for group presentations. Gwen has been actively involved in compassionate work throughout Texas. As the Executive Director of Center for Mind Body Health, her passion is to assist people to find mental health through therapeutic groups and alternative healing sources. She is trained and certified as a mind body practitioner and has been teaching mindfulness meditation and mind body skills groups to her clients as well as community groups. She is also on the board of Compassionate Houston and serves as Chair of the Greater Houston Healing Collaborative.
