Compassionate Houston's First Book Study 2025 - Read, Learn, Connect!

For the New Year, let's try cultivating hope! According to Stanford professor of psychology Jamil Zaki's research, hope is a better response to life's challenges than cynicism. The Greater Good Science Center recently interviewed Zaki about the importance of hope—and why practicing hope should be part of everyone's New Year's resolution.

In his latest book, Hope for Cynics, Zaki explores humans' inherent capacity for kindness, empathy, and altruism and encourages readers to recognize and cultivate these positive traits in themselves and others.

Join us via Zoom for four consecutive Thursday evenings, February 6, 13, 20, and 27, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. and kickstart 2025 with a “ray of light!”
