Like a Rock thrown in Water, the Ripples of Suicide are Many

There is a very moving article in the Oct 2, 2013 issue of the online publication Psychiatric Times under the title of Psychiatry, Religion and Suicide.   In his article the author, H. Steven Moffic, M.D., shares his own personal experience of having one of his patients commit suicide while he was a resident in training.  Decades later when he began to share the incident in a medical meeting, he wept uncontrollably.  His article is well worth reading, Psychiatry, Religion and Suicide
